Bernd Fennel founds Fennel KG as a tool and die-making business in a garage in Bad Oeynhausen-Wulferdingsen. 

Start of double colour injection moulding. For the first time the Company employs 100 staff. 

Consolidation of internationalisation by foundation of sales companies abroad. 

Fennel KG now has 300 employees. Startup of the Löhne production facility. Injection moulding shops set up at the Bad Oeynhausen site.

 

Expansion of presence abroad. Fennel has representation in 40 countries worldwide with sales companies. 

Foundation of BKP in the Czech Republic registered in Most. Production prcesses: Plastics and metal finishing, surface techniques such as printing, powder coating, sanding, polishing and modular assembly. Fennel takeover of Balda GmbH. In 1999 the Company successfully goes public as Balda AG on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. 

Move into the new production facility in Bad Oeynhausen.
 

Move into the automotive sector. Takeover of majority holding in Jacobi, a technical injection moulding components production company. 

Fennel expands further and takes over Beckmann Werkzeugbau in Bad Salzuflen. 

Foundation of Fennel China registered in Shanghai. 



Production processes:
Plastics and surface technology plus modular assembly for the furniture and electrical industries.  

Foundation of Fennel CosMed for cosmetics and medical technology target sectors with emphasis on packaging, dosing units, technical injection moulding components.  

Takeover of Jacobi and intensified concentration on technical customer groups outside the furniture industry. 

As a production partner to the "food" sector Fennel CosMed establishes itself in an important growth market. One year later the company becomes independently. 

Entrance of the Hansa Chemie International AG into the Fennel group of companies. 

Concentration of production, administration and logistics for Fennel KG and 2H-Jara in Bad Oeynhausen.
